Watercolour seascape of coastal New Zealand. Painted on 300 gsm, A3 watercolor paper. As is always the case with water colours, the water dictated the subject. Unlike when I paint florals, the only pecil drawing done on this, was to outline the horizon. I allowed the paint to determine the movement of the waves. For they sky, the paint moved smoothly, accross and down the page. Depending on the hue and paper used; this does not always work out as well. The clouds were formed by dabbing up the pigment before the paint dried, and then adding darker tones for shadows.
